Default Rough bore in pistol

I have a full stainless revolver with a small visible rough spot about half to three quarters of an inch back from the muzzle. I don't know if this affects accuracy much but it sure does lead up like a mother at that spot. The question is quite simple, maybe. What is my best option for trying to smooth this out? Heard about JB compound but not sure how well this will cut stainless. Any opinions greatly appreciated.

I would try the jb first, it should work, some people use toothpaste, or go to a automotive shop and get some valve grinding paste it comes in different # starting from 400 - 1200 with 400 being the coursest.are you sure its a rough spot, some times its a bulge. check it out any way

You can see the spot in the bore with just a flashlight. Looks like a slight tear from machining the grooves in. I guess I'lll try the JB and see what happens
