Wabamun today
Me n a friend went to wabamun today n got a 12 lb pike. 5 5-6 lb pike and about 25 pike 4 or less lbs. Was amazing! We witnessed a pike each a loon as well which was probably the biggest highlight of the day. Its unreal how good the fishing was there

You meant "eat" a loon. Pike don't "each" things to the best of my knowledge...but ya I never thought I'd see a fish take down a full grown bird.
Can't figure out how to post a pic...

Been to Wab. twice before and have had decent luck. HUGE LAKE
and cant seem to understand what end of the lake to go , how far out etc.
Not looking for an secret honey holes but a general direction would sure
be appreciated. Sure would cut down on driving around in a circle
trying to decide what direction to go. I know that figureing that kinda
thing is half the fun but WOW.... thats some big lake !!!
Anyone want to point " thata way " ???

Sheesh Jason, you're like a *****!!! Just look for bays with some cattails/bullrushes growing in them. I've caught fish in Wab on spoons, spinners, crankbaits and topwater jerkbaits. Just in the last 2 days. Also...if you can find something that looks like a loon you'll probably get a monster of a fish!

Shove yer hand in her mouth
You can grab it while its in the water with one of those lip grab units or get a cradle theyre open one end and ya slide it under the fish theyre slick

Just launch your boat at the townsite and start trolling heading West along the shore line and you'll find fish no problem. Distance from shore isn't too much of an issue but I find close to the bull rushes etc to be a good distance, 15 to 25' from them

Well, our experience involves 8 hours or so on Sunday, 6 or so in the rain on Monday and about 3 Tuesday night. In that time we've caught a 12, 10, 8, 7 and a whole bunch of fish less than 7 lbs. Sunday night we must have caught 30 fish between the 2 of us.
Also...a pike take a Zara Spook is one of the coolest things you'll see. Reminds me of a great white eating a seal.
I just hope the pike stay shallow for a while. It'll be dissapointing if they go deep before we can get our hands on a boat
