Default Deep cycle

I use the biggest deep cycle battery that Costco has. It is a Kirkland and I think it is 115 or 120 amp hours for about $60 ???? Unless they changed the price over the years. Never had a problem trolling around all day either in my canoe or zodiac with my 55lb thrust Minnekota. I have 2 of those batteries so I always have one ready to go if I'm going for a few days.

Hope this helps

Default battery -solar panel

I use a energizer dep cycle . I bought a 5w solar panel from ct . Hook it up to battery all day when i am at lake . was at blood indian for 5 days . ran motor for about 5hrs. per day when i got home i checked the battery and it was still right up. saves having to run generator or hook up to 110 to charge batteries.

I've got the Motorguide Wireless 75# model with the built in transducer on my Pro V, it came with the boat when I bought it.

I wasn't keen on it, because I've always been a Minn Kota man, I LOVE the AutoPilot feature. After using the Motorguide, it is a nice unit. The wireless feature is pretty sweet, really frees up space and clutter, reacts quickly, and seems to be pretty flawless. It's easy to deploy and stow, has plenty of power, and battery life seems good.

I still miss the AutoPilot, but in terms of functionality everywhere else, the Motorguide is as good or better than the MinnKota in my opinion.
