Default clicker question

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

As a ex olympic recurve archer, and new to bow hunting I would like to ask,
When shooting compound hunting bow, how do you know you are pulling the arrow always the same?
On long distance shooting 70-90m its vital important for consistency, on olympic recurve clicker helps to control it, even 2-5mm difference on a pull affecting the shot.

May be hunters never shot this kind of distances, but it should help anyway i believe?

Thank you!

Alex

Default Pull

Compound bows have either cable or limb stops so that after the cams roll over you will come up against a wall so to speak. Some bows have a more solid feeling than others but if you hold pressure against the wall your draw length should be the same every shot.

Adding to what Roscoe provided..........The draw length on a compound will have to be sized to you. It's not like picking up a recurve that is rated at 40 pounds when drawn to 28 inches...........and you can either draw short or longer. The compound bow will only draw the length that it is configured for. As an example, a bow configured to draw 28 inches cannot be drawn 27 or 29 inches. You simply cannot short draw or long draw a compound. When the wheels turn over you continue to draw, a small amount, until you reach the wall and can pull no further back........voila........consistency every time.

So your Irish........living in Ireland? Welcome to the forum Alex!

Also that Clicker...designed to make an audible "click" sound when draw is reached...may be a hinderance when hunting...some of those critters can hear your heart beat or a watch "tick"...

Many bows have adjustable draw stops that allow you exact draw and perfect draw for you the shooter each time... they are very silent
