Default Which bow case?

New bow is on the way. Went to check out bow cases. I'll need one for the bow, dozen target arrows, half dozen hunting arrows, tight spot quiver and Hogg Father sight. Went to Cabelas and saw the All Weather Plano bow case.
Anyone have one or would you suggest a different brand?

I have the heavy duty Plano one from cabelas. It's very durable and is definitely a good buy. Plano has some great quality products

SKB

About twice the price of a cheap plastic one but will last a lifetime. I fly with my bow a bunch and airlines are not delicate.

Tight spot quiver firs perfect in the top part of the case and HHA fits easy

Plano case is more than enough if you are not planning on flying.

Yep unless you want to try and use plastic buckles at 20 below.

Plano ones are fine but plastic is plastic. Great for pop bottles not so much for a bow case.

BTW top end Plano ones are the same price as SKB.

I got a plano se 44 that I like its not the most rigid but serves the purpose and i can leave my tightspot quiver attached when its in the case.....I think it has space for 12 arrows on the lid also.

I tried two different skb cases and neither fit a short ata (30 5") nor narrow limbed bows as they are pressure fit ......if they offered velcro straps I would try them again.
You would have to be very rough with the plastic buckles on the plano to break them in any temp.

MY SKB has velcro straps but it is a couple of years old so can comment on the new ones

I broke the buckle on mine but I am the first to admit I am not always the most delicate on my cases.

Gone through 4 news bows all in this case and fits my Prime ION nicely

I will say that SKB not great for long ATA bows

I have bought the soft shelled hard case and the hard case both were pressure fit.....dont know why they would go away from the straps....very nice cases otherwise!

My SKB has Velcro straps, after buying it a couple years ago I wouldn't bother with another brand.

Where are you guys getting these cases and what models have the straps.
I tried this one from Cabelas http://www.skbcases.com/sports/sku.php?cat=12&pid=8
and this one from Trophy Book http://www.skbcases.com/sports/sku.php?cat=12&pid=122
Both were pressure fit and didnt secure by bows from moving.

X2
That cabelas SKB felt cheap and flexed alot. Thats why i went with a hard square plano also had lock spots. I would fly with it seems very strong. Also from my experi. -30 didnt bother my cheaper plano bow cases.

IMHO SKB hands down if one flys or travels a lot..if travel or flight isnt an issue they are costly and quite heavy...

Personally I hate any hardcase with the pillers in the case...the pillars add strentgh for heavy abuse ...but I wouldnt use or recommend these cases for airlines as the rest of the case may fail...

The pillars are a huge pain in the butt...some bows will not even fit proper and the pillar cases dont allow quivers ...or at least arrows in the quivers...

A good all around case if not air line travel...that will hold up great in ruff use of a back of a pickup or on a quad ...is inexpensive and has a lot of room ...

Is the old Dosko SE44 bow case....now Plano 1010630 SE Series Single Bow Case

http://planomolding.com/index.php/hunting/1010630.html

Will hold a dozen or more arrows but is just a cheap slit foam stlye arrow holder...I recommend using a Primos Bow sling in this case...or any case for that matter to protect strings...

This case allows loaded quiver on bow..ready to go on the run...plernty of room in case

cons...bulky and arrow holders are not the best...
but for day to day use or on quad..perfect protection...

Neil
