2017 Bull Moose
I originally put this in the bowhunting thread, but a couple of guys I was talking to said that more people might enjoy it if I put it here too, here goes.
This was the 4th year after this bull. He was very sneaky and educated. Year after year the trail cam pics would pop up, and last year I had him in to 40 or so yards on 2 separate occasions but could not get it done. Different story this year. I got into his bedroom and called him in to 30 yards and got the shot with my bow! He was with 4 cows and came in very agressively. Green scores around 194 gross/189 net with a 59 1/2" spread. Super stoked and thankful to get the opportunity to hunt his beast! Killed on a general tag during archery season. My hunting partner and I have passed on likely close to 20 bulls with archery tackle over the last 4 seasons just to get this opportunity to harvest him.
It was a huge amount of work once he hit the ground! Thanks to great friends for the assist and recovery!

Heck of a bull! Never seen that last pic in the archery harvest section. It really shows how big his antlers are. What a brute. Congrats again

Congrats on a great looking bull, any chance you can share some of your other pictures of him over the years. Do you feel he is at his best this year or was he bigger in past years.
Thanks

Did the bull always have big forks as his fronts or did they change over the years?....

Way to go bud. Love those big daggers in between the fronts and the paddles. Excellent moose.

Great bull and story, nice pics too. Thanks for taking the time to contribute. It always feels so satisfying to succeed after it bombed a few times first. "If not to experience defeat, victory would not tastes so sweet"
Now he's gone, a new dream, goal, target to anticipate about, exciting!

Yes, that was his unique characteristic. Those big crab claws were always like that.

Yup , I spent many weeks on the couch checking trail cams and scouting locations, let alone hunting. During the hundreds of km on foot the couch was always my friend 😉 lol.

During early season the only thing I have worn for the last 10 or so years has been predator spring green or green deception. In the areas I hunt it is amazing how well it works!
