there are Ruger revolvers designated to use both 9 mm and 38 Spl (and perhaps 357 mag)

If it's a lead bullet you will have leading issues in a hurry. Gases will escape around the bullet melting lead into the rifling. For instance when firing from a .357 pistol you actually want a bullet of .358 diameter.

If jacketed you will find inconsistent accuracy. The .355 will simply not be efficient use of the rifling.

Can it be done?.....yes. With good results?......i sought it.

Default Same price anyway

As one who has reloaded both .38 Spl, .357 Mag., and 9 mm, I have observed the reloading bullets for these are all pretty much the same price. So I'd have to wonder why you bother putting 9s in a 38? Simply buy the right size and be done with it.

I suppose if you had a bag of 500 9mm bullets, and were just desperate to shoot 38 the next morning, you MIGHT be tempted to load 9s in the 38s. To me, that is really not a good reason to try. Just buy some .38 bullets, stay safe.

This is good advice. Do it right or don't do it.
