Default Question for the Sask folks

Or anyone familiar with secondary highway 676 in Sask. Work may be sending me to Major Sask to see a damaged piece of Farm equipment. I'm in Edmonton.

Google maps is showing 2 ways to get there but it doesn't really tell or show if the one route in Sask is all gravel or paved.

Shortest is Ab Hw #13 into Sask and drop down on 676.

If 676 is gravel, I can come in off Ab Hw # 12/Sask 51 to Major.

Can someone tell me what kind of road is 676, paved or gravel?

Just got a new to me sedan for work/daily driver that's in real nice shape and it don't have mud flaps yet. Don't really want to throw gravel off the tires until I get those on.

Thanks a bunch

Most secondary highways in SK are garbage. I haven't been on the 676 but I assume over there it is really bad pavement and/or gravel. One thing for sure, do NOT take SK 51 from AB 12. It is one of the worst roads I have been on in a long time.

Sk gravel roads for the most part would be helluva lot easier on your frontend components than Saskatchewan's paved secondaries

I used to work for Sask Highways...

Being a 600 series road, it's likely gravel or garbage TMS soon to be turned back to gravel. These roads generally were never paved.

Take Highway 13 to Macklin, Turn south on 31 to Kerrobert, west on 51 to Major, small amount of back tracking, but decent highways

Do not take 12/sk51. SK51 is arguably the worst road in North America.

Take Hal's route.

Yes SK51 from AB 12 into Major is a real experience. It's guaranteed to build your character but awful hard on a vehicle.

I took SK 51 from Biggar to AB 12 three yrs ago. God All mighty!!! I have never seen a road in that bad of shape. I guess it is a result of all those NDP yrs in power. They didn't spend a dime of infrastructure, spent it all on useless social programs.
