Default Fire/smoke status near Crowsnest Pass

We are planning our annual camping/quading trip this next week and I'm just wondering if we should reconsider.

Was through last weekend no smoke really to speak of in the area. But that was last weekend could have changed now. It was hot!

Was camping on Dutch Creek last weekend, no smoke at all.
Lots of damn flies that bite though.

Get your trip in quick, I would expect with the lack of rain and the heat that the southern forestry to be closed to the public before the Aug long. It's dangerously dry out there and getting worse by the hour.

I agree. It's just a matter of time, if we don't get a lot of moisture

We all need to practice extra carefulness at this time. I typically like to BBQ steaks, ribs in my backyard pit over open wood flames. However, at this time no way I'm going to do that. Too risky, a single cinder could start something that quickly goes out of control. Be very very careful out there.
