Never done one but am interested.
Have tied pike flies for a long time & am always interested in what other guys take on what a pike fly should be.
If it gets going I've got a few to add to the mix.
eagleflyfisher's questions have not been answered.
I'm thinking that patterns/recipes/videos are readily available on the internet and those that already tie pike flies have defined their "go to" patterns.
Sorry, but I just don't understand the purpose of the fly swap.
Please enlighten.

So to answer a few questions.

I am just a guy that likes to tie flies and fly fish, I have been in a few fly swaps on here for trout flies (awesome experience) and thought that a pike swap would be a good idea as there is not a lot of retailers for pike flies, and if you can find one they are expensive and unproven.

For me its about getting a few different flies in your arsenal for pike seeing what works for others and appreciating the quality and craftsmanship of the other tiers.

I hope that I have enlightened you as to the reason why I would like to do the swap.

Just a reminder for all those in the fly swap that haven't already mailed them in that the flies are due today.
Please PM if you are going to be late. I plan to mail them out Mid-April so everyone will have them for May.

So far I have received 5 including my own, with a commitment from that 2 more are on the way, and one person unfortunately bowing out.

Off in the bushes, can you post pics of all the flies being swapped? I see you've already posted some above, thanks for that. Just curious about the patterns people are using.

Sounds like it's not going anywhere, I'd say send out what you have & return the balance left over to the original owners?
Anyone else ?

Whichever. I am fine with receiving doubles of what has been received.

Well if some can make a decision on the above that would be great. I have no preference either way.

Okay,

Just divide up what was received and send it out. I am excited to see the other patterns.

If there are extra of what I sent, please accept it as a gift for organizing the fly swap.

Thanks for organizing this swap....... and your generous postage donations. You have inspired me to add this type of fly to my repertoire. Just getting into pike fishing and can't wait to try them out.
Cheers

No worries about the postage I am able to cough it up, if there would have been more people in the swap I would have said something.

Just got home and was happy to see the flies. Looking forward to tying some copies and trying them out. Great effort by those involved.
