look's to me like two marten, the little guy is missing 3/4 of his tail. probably a young of the year. the bigger guy looks awesome, you'll get alot more money by posting a pic on taxi.net than for the fur...... not a fisher. i'ld keep him and get mounted like sage said.

Large marten
Nice but I think its a large marten. The only thing that happens to a marten when it crosses a fisher is ,,,, the fisher gets lunch!!!!

Definitally a odd speciman but I agree with the others, I see nothing to indicate a Fisher cross here.
To me the tail looks classic Marten. I don't see any sign of the taper so typical of a Fisher tail. Or the darkening toward the end.
I had to google these pictures to show what I mean, non of my photos show the tail well enough.

Just a thought.
I don't think it would be possible for them to crossbreed.
A Fisher has delaid implantation, meaning that they breed in the spring right after giving birth but the female does not become pregnent untill the following winter.
Marten breed in July and August and become pregnent right away, giving birth in the spring.

A large marten. If you got lots of fisher, you don't have a lot of marten. They, as a rule are not lovers.
