Default Rio gold, is it suppose to look like this new

Sorry I don't know how to post pics, I know I should use tapatalk.

Anyhow, I decided to put on the new Rio Gold WF5F that I bought on Boxing Day on my reel today and noticed that the first 24 inches is a darker shade of green and feels rougher than the rest of the line.
I can't say I noticed this the other few times I put on a new line. I did notice something similar after a season of fishing but I cut off the offending eighteen inches and went another full year with it.
This can't be normal is it? I just wanted your opinions , I'm probably going to visit the Fishin' Hole later and see what they say.

Thanks.

Yeah it is normal. Its the "extra buoyant" tip. My gold has the same thing, so does my perception line.

I bought mine at The Fishin' Hole on the south side. I will probably be testing their return policy.
