Default Fishing lodge recommendation vehicle access

Howdy,
My wife and spent our honeymoon fishing and our anniversary is coming up this June. Being a romantic, selfless guy, ( maybe, really persuasive too) I was thinking that my wife would really enjoy chucking some flies for a few days at a lodge in Northern AB or Sask, maybe even BC.

I haven't done much online research yet but figured it doesn't hurt to get advice or opinions from people that have actually experienced a place.

I'm looking for vehicle accessible, not fly in and some place that the focus is fishing not gourmet meals. Rustic is good with basic amenities.

Fancy and upscale not preferred but if the fishing is fantastic it would be considered.

I may be frugal but still want my wife to enjoy herself. Which means , as long as the scenery is half decent and she's into fish she should be happy.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Thanx,
Stan

I had a great time at Winifred Lake Lodge last year in June or July. There are also outfitter cabins avail to rent. More rustic but a lot cheaper. So I've heard.

I've heard good things about Winifred from a cousin that has gone for several years now.

Thanx!

I vote Winifred too. Was there about 5 Years ago. Didn't stay in the outfitters tents but they had a package that included a 2 bedroom cabin that was just essentials and two very nice new 16' Lund boats with 20hp motors. They had a website that broke down the packages. We cooked for ourselves obviously which was cheaper but they had the all inclusive packages I believe as well. Fiahing was nonstop and a lot of trophy sized pike.

I had an awesome time at Winnefred in Summer 2014.

The only thing I would say against the lake ( not the lodge ) is that if you're unfortunate enough to go at a time where the northern wind is coming down, the lake can be quite rough.

There is a little place in BC's okanagon that is reasonable, drive in, and has trout fishing. The weather is nice and the water is clean. Beautiful setting.
