Can we bitch and moan about how stupid and utterly unnecessary all this BS is, and how people are just passively letting their rights be eroded?

A person has to wonder why we even have travel restrictions. Covid and all of it's variants have all spread world wide despite restrictions, vaccines, testing, and making life miserable. Why bother? Honest question. It has crippled economies, and caused nothing but headaches. What benefit has been gained? Apart from ceding control and power over peoples' lives in exchange for a false sense of security.

Maybe this is the wrong thread for that question, but it is about travel.

No, the problem being there hasn't been a requirement for travelers to get tested unless you were unvax'd. That's the problem. Since day one, they should've rapid tested everyone stepping on and off a plane, yes pilots and staff as well.

If they truly want to reduce covid, this is the only way to stop transmission of new (and old) variants, vax'd or not.

Oddly enough, even though I shake my head at all the stupid decisions out gov't has made throughout this, I can actually get behind this one. Test everyone getting on the plane, and test everyone getting off, (since we can't trust most.other countries to do the work properly).

I should edit, crossing an international border everyone should be tested, driving/flying/swimming/etc.
