If you use or have tried a weighted blanket for sleeping… whatcha think?
Just like the title.
Are you using or have you tried sleeping with a weighted blanket?

Have a 17 lbs and I find it too hot, but the wife loves it!!
I like the feel of it, but by the middle of the night I was trying to cool down as I found too hot. I also create a lot of BTU's according to the wife, so maybe it will better for others!
Cheers

I remember we used big moving quilts for camping when we were kids, I really liked the weight.

Three cats = 1 weighted blanket. But they don't tolerate much twisting and turning.

I have one, I think it is 20 pounds, mine is a weighted cooling blanket though.
I like it because I sleep very very hot but my wife is always cold. I like the feeling of sleeping under a real blanket, not just a sheet, but not the temperature that a real blanket provides, so in the summer I use the cooling weighted blanket and I think it is great. My wife gets her real blanket and I get my cooling blanket and it keeps us both happy.
The one thing I do not like is the restriction it provides to my movement as I tend to toss and turn and wake up a lot in the night. Not a deal breaker, I am just a really light sleeper. My friends kids and his wife all have them for anxiety (not sure how that works but it works for them so more power to them) and they said the weight helps them sleep better since it keeps them from moving around so much.
They are worth trying but it depends on your goals for the blanket I guess.

I had a 15 pound one. It was alright. Have to get used to the weight on the body though cause it can feel constricting. I prefer my heated mattress pad for warmth and a regular blanket. I didn’t sleep any longer or better when I used the weighted blanket.

I thought about it also as I am a poor sleeper but I also run HOTTTTTT all the time.
Bought the tumpurpedic mattress about 8 months ago and do like it ............not the price tag but it has helped my sleep and bad back!!!
I bought bamboo sheets and found a bamboo comforter at Bed Bath Beyond. Ie was marked down from 750 bucks to 220!!! It is a king to match mattress and heavy but maintains cool so works for me. I think the weighted would just be too hot for me. Also, as someone stated , the 17 pound cat finds his way into my room every night but enjoys sleeping above the wife on her pillow or at the foot of the bed.... he is like a weighted blanket too!!!!

Wife bought the "Hush" one a couple years ago.
We always had good quality duvets.
Hands down the weighted blanket is way better IMO anyways. Cool in summer and warm in winter.

My wife insists I sleep with one on our pontoon boat, she say it will stop me from roll to her side of the bed on the deck. So far she hasn't convinced me.

My dear wife is going through the "hot flashes" stage.
Frigging bedroom window is always open, no matter the temp outside.
I just like flannel sheets and they seem to do the trick.
If not, and she's snoring...will go on the couch...simple...

We bought a weighted blanket for our 8 year old daughter a few years ago. She was constantly claiming she was cold. we'd find 5 huge duvet type blankets on her bed. We did some research and found that often times children with sensory issues, which my daughter has a bit of, will often mistake being "cold" and multiplying blankets, is actually their sensory system telling them they want to be snugged up with pressure around them.
We got her a 5 lbs weighted fleece blanket and she immediately stopped stacking duvets in her bed. turns out, for her, she was indeed trying to get snug and have some pressure around her.
Whatever your purpose for the weighted blanket, I would recommend one for sure.
Keep in mind weighted blankets are meant to be only a percentage of your own body weight. I believe it is inly 10 % or something like that.
