I thought this was a weird survey.
At one point it asks if you think climate change is having an effect on fish stocks.
And then it asks you to confess if you've ever illegally introduced an invasive fish into a waterbody.

I agree, but the current climate change religion permeates everything. I also find it funny that it asks is you have seen invasive species but doesn't act if you have removed them.

I had a bit to say about native fishing.

I took the time to fill it out, hope this survey opens some eyes for the powers that be. Plus....a shot at a couple $200 gift cards is a nice incentive

If you didn’t then for sure nothing would come of it
Thanks for taking it. I’ll get to it today.

I’ll probably mention native fishing as well. Any opportunity is better than nothing

This is a good survey. Also allows for long comments. Regarding the state of angling I added these concerns:

- Remaining native netting and the rift it has created and continues to worsen between non-natives and natives. Also, the destructive cause of netting and the importance of leveling the playing field for all users of a body of water. I stressed this a lot and called the situation beyond critical now and that something needs to change.

- Slot size limits and not just tags to manage. They should try it out further at some pilot and more populated area lakes. Either it works and everyone is happy with a system that managed using both tags and non-tags. Or fails utterly and ends the debate. I think the risk is low at a lake like Wabamun for example.

- Under the invasive species section I posted the link to the Blood Indian thread. More social situations like this where anglers come together is good for many reasons. Eliminating many of the invasive species and getting people to work together, as an example. Win/win.

That only touches on some of the things I raised. If some of you have not, it is a chance to speak up and be heard. If you don’t take it and think nothing ever changes, you are self-fulfilling your own prophecy. Take it!

I filled the survey.

Invasive species...would all non native trout be considered invasive? For some reason this fact rarely gets debate, yet we support releasing zombies into nature that screw up entire river systems.

I highly doubt that any invasive specie will ever get eliminated.

I filled it out but hope these guys are legit. I looked at some other surveys and things look similar to the Petas and other supporters of non outdors related groups.

You can definitely tell this was written by someone who does not fish. I love the question about how you fish.. Fly fishing, hook and line, spin casting rod or net. hook and line is how you fishing unless your netting. And if you catch an invasive species how likely are you to let it live. Where is the NEVER option. hahaha

Anyway they got my 2 cents.
