Chain lakes reservoir earliest open water?

Does anyone have an update on how the ice is melting at chain? I am looking at going shore fishing there on the weekend of April 5th/6th, do you guys think there will be enough open water to fish from shore by then?

There's that Bay on the North Northwest side that always opens up first, but I think it may be private land. A door knocking may be in order.
