There are some newer powders with more controlled burn rates and better densities that work extremely well in larger cases and larger bores with shorter barrels .. the Ramshot and Accurate lines being just a couple of them. A 20- 22" barrel would just about cover them all.

It's supposed to have a 26" barrel. I haven't talked to him since I dropped it off. Told Greg no hurry so he's gonna try to source a barrel that might be on sale.

I was figuring on retumbo. What's your thoughts on that choice? One of the problems I'm finding is bullet choice. Seen that chinchaga bullets is working on a 35 cal but haven't seen a update since the owner had some health issues.

I think with that cartridge I would be looking for a fairly stout bullet .. Barnes, Woodleigh or similar. As for powders, have a look at the Ramshot/ Accurate offerings .. TAC, Hunter, Magnum etc. . I use them in a number of cartridges from 6.5 to 9.3x62 and find very consistent velocities and accuracy across the board .You made a good choice going with a 26" bbl as you can always cut and re-crown if you find it's too long for your liking. It will still be a trial and error thing with load development but that's what it's all about . A copy of Quickload will certainly help with that. Good Luck

Got my 358 umt out of the shop today. Don't seem to be much load data that I can find so I'm wondering if I could start with this load?

If anưone has any load data for it I'd certainly welcome it.

Thanks
