Default Lake newell

THINKING OF HEADING OUT TO NEWELL ON SAT, DOSE ANYONE KNOW IF ITS STILL OK THERE. WOULD HATE TO MAKE THAT LONG TRIP FROM CROSSFEILD FOR NOTHING...AND HOW THICK IS THE ICE..

I dont know about ice conditions but I do know that there is a bait ban on Newell because of the spawn. I wouldn't waste your time and venture north to Gull as everything is biting from what I have seen and heard the last couple of weeks. Make sure you check the regs before going because alot of lakes close soon as well. Newell Lake – Open all year.
Mar. 16 to May 7 – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 0; Perch limit 15; Lake Whitefish limit 10; Burbot limit 10; Bait Ban.

a bait ban....now thats no fun, the reason i was going was that all the other lakes are closed but im going to check gull never been any good suggestion where to fish?

why dont you fish crawling valley? if it isnt closed its a great place. its by bassano.

Crawling Valley Reservoir, including the Crawling Valley Inlet Canal downstream of the canal headworks (Little Dam) (3-21-18- W4) – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 15; Lake Whitefish limit 10; Burbot limit 10.
May 8 to Nov. 30 – Open only between sunrise and sunset each day.
Dec. 1 to Mar. 15 – Open 24 hrs. a day.
Mar. 16 to May 7 – CLOSED
