Default Fishing around Taber

I'm in Taber for the week with my boys for hockey camp and I was wondering in anyone was willing to point me the direction to do some fishing in the evening. I didn't bring the boat so most of the resevoirs are out. Thanks in advance.

Old Man River is probably your best bet if you don't like shore fishing reservoirs. If you don't mind a short drive up the 36 there's a bridge over the Bow River with a small creek outlet.

Also up highway 36 is a bridge over the Oldman. On the far side you can catch Pike and Walleye by casting along the bridge supports and the upstream portion of the river. Watch and listen for Rattlesnakes in the weeds on the shore.

Just take the first rd on the north side of the Sugar factory. It will lead you to the pump house, cast anywhere around there and you will catch pike.

No size limit, if you go a bit further you can fish the canal where it comes out of the lake which is referred in the regs as Taber Res. Limit 3 pike any size.
