Default Fishing the Athabasca river fishing...

Hey guys,

I am going to Whistler's campground next month.
I really suck at river fishing.
But will have a whole week to sit by the river and try, try , and try again.
What can a guy have a realistic shot at catching using spinning gear?

Also what type of lure can a guy use?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I used to fish the Athabasca along the Wapiti campground.

I used these in black.

Use a long rod and dabble along the rock eddy line. Caught lots of rockies.

Using spincast gear I have used number 1 or 2 size mepps or panther martin spinners. A Rapala in trout colors might work good too.

This guy from Jasper does articles on fishing in Jasper. Read his advice too.

I'm hoping by the end of September will be better.
