Default late utikuma

anybody have any reports on utikuma? it's open all year, and we're thinking of taking a trip up there...is the ice usually safe at the beginning of april?
oh..and hows the fishing?

Was on the bay at km 86 last week-end, could drive on about 300 yrds. Caught about 6 burbots, and 4 jacks. lost a couple more of each. Seen 2 perch, but by time i got a perch hook down they were gone.

Better fishing by the small island if you can get there, it's been mostly ski-doo access though, but heard a truck made it there with tire chains.

Ice should still be good well into april, Hope this helps & Good Luck!!!

Default tons o fish

went to utikuma and camped last weekend caught a ton of pike 1 wally 5 perch and had awhite on that snapped my rod used marker 80 for access skidooed out to the island non stop action all day long well worth the trip hope you do as well as i did

was there on the week end and drove on with trucks quads will go anywhere. Good luck might go again this week end...
