If you search the fishing discussions there was an excellent discussion about this a little while ago. It covered exactly what you are looking for.

I went to Ucluelet, on Vancouver Island last summer. We went out with Castaway Charters. Our guide's name was Matt. Caught lots of fish. Had a great time.

Default Salmon Fishing BC

I would also recommend Ucluelet, we went with West Cost Fish and had no time for beer steady hauling in fish 17 miles off shore. Good Times!!!
His website is westcoastfish.com We head down for Slayfest as much as possible.

I went with LeisureSuit charters last summer, and had an amazing time. My first Spring was a monster....51 lbs, not to mention some great halibut and snappers. The area he fishes has been amazingly productive the last few years. He throws crab and prawn traps for you at no extra cost too. Check him out.....

Default Salmon fishing

The first question is when do you plan to go I live on Vancouver island and take my boat up to Ucluelet twice a year for a week at a time. Up till 11 years ago I was a commerical fisherman and had a 44' freezer troller but that is not the question, most charter guys in Ucluelet will caught you some fish. This year the Hailbut may be good but the daily quote is down to one from two per day, Any way back to your question LONG BEACH CHARTERS the guys name is MIKE MARRIOTT his number ismailto:longbeachcharters@telus.net or http://www.longbeachcharters.com/ he is a friend on mine and a great fisherman. He has hosted the fishing show with Jason Priestly check out his web page. Great guy you will have the trip of a life time, I give him a run for his money the weeks I am there, May even see you there if you go. Let me know after you get it bookked Jim..

Use STS Guiding Service. They do shore and fly fishing trips for evey kind of salmon as well as stugreon on the Fraser and Harrison hot springs. I caught an 18 lb chinook and had to chase it down the river in one of their jet boats!!
Great fishing fun and they really know the spots. Vic Carraro and his guides are great. I highly recommend these guys.
