Default Help - Pigeon or Wabamun Friday ... which is less green

Taking the nephew out tomorrow or Saturday ... curious if anyone has recently
been to Pigeon or Wabamun and the fishing/algae reports.

I am leaning to Pigeon.

Thanks!

I myself have not been on the water at Pigeon, but I'm out here and there seems to be lotsa traffic out there, watched a guy catch a coupla fish right from a dock, all the guys fishing that I have talked with say it's not to bad out there for algae, plus the fish are biting like crazy they say, I'm not sure what crazy really means when it comes to that but I'm guessing it's a good thing..

Wabamun is a great lake for Alge. It never gets bad like calling or Buck. If that's your worry head to Wab for sure. Plus all the walleye and pike you can catch...just in the smaller category.

Pigeon without question. Hit the PP drop at about 17 ft, usually good for at least 50 fish, get out early though.

Only thing I dislike about pigeon pp is the boat launch. Very shallow and the long line up at the boat launch when you want to get your boat off .
Wabamun I like as it is closer to me as I live on the north end .
Does have long line ups at the camp ground boat launch but for $20. you get no line up at the town boat launch. .

Fish at pigeon are larger than Wabamun
So for young kids Wabamun may be better as they will not lose their rods.
I would say both have the same amount to be caught.

Agreed. Both are terrible to get off of. Gave up on pp Wabamun launch years ago, I'll pay the $20 any day.
