Default Minus 6 this morning

headed south to see my new boat and decided to chuck a few casts.
Left the shop late and missed first light...duh!!!...sorry about pics dont know how to tranfer them from BB properly

Saw a racoon, deer and a pheasant near the homestead..too dark for pics
Ducks every where...the geese where just stupid.....i threw rocks at these ducks as the quacking was driving me nutz.....they werent scared.

got 16 of these things

Then i caught a rig Mikeo lost couple days earlier on a fish...he says..lol

The whitefish were thick by the thousands at time...jumbos!!!...snagged one in the tail by accident....got off before i could take a bb pic . I have not seen whites this thick ever.
Met 2 dogs in the middle of no where....they ate my turkey sammiches, I hope they find their way home.

Then my luck ran out.....these rotten things began to bite

Ended a nice day with one more stop, Thanks horse for supper

Final tally
16 eyes
8 greasey green things
and a gut full of KFC

Nope not unusual, they will be kicking the smaller bucks away from them and starting to check out does in a couple weeks.

No.. KFC is now another liquor store.. that makes 11 of them.. in the population of a little over 10,000 ppl. Now we have to go to Okotoks for the bucket of famous greasy not so bad chicken..

Why such a dislike for pike? They sure fight a hell of a lot harder than eyes..

They stink and slime the hell out of everything they touch and unless you are a trophy pike hunter they are pretty simple fish to catch for the most part.

With eyes you have to put a pattern together to figure them out. Pike feed all over a lake or river where as walleye target certain areas making them harder to find.

Every species will have a following and there is an argument as to why people hunt that species. If a fisherman/woman is on the hunt for eyes then most of the time they want nothing to do with pike. Pike bite offs are my number one pet peeve when I am on the hunt for walleyes.
