Default Lac Ste Anne Today

Well,
First time fishing Lac Ste Anne, figured it was time to try and fill some Walleye tags. Not the fantastic Walleye fishing I have heard of, but definitly a good day.
It was a bit chilly this morning. -4 when we were getting on the water. My son was sure glad we packed some hot chocolate today!
Fish must have been frozen, that action didn't start still the sun was shining strong!! Only caught one Walleye, thank goodness he was within my tag slot size, cause he sure tasted good tonight!! 5 good sized pike, and the fish of the day was a huge whitefish. This thing had to be around the 8 or 9 lb mark it was huge. About 30" long and at least 10" back to belly. Unfortunalty my first attempt to net the fish was thwarted and he then got off the hook and swam away.
All in all a good day on the water, here's a couple of pics for y'all!!

Awwww.........the infamous big one that got away.....lol!

It's amazing how calm the water can get without any other boats bombing around. Great pics and thanks for sharing.

Good stuff!

Too bad about the big whitey. I've learned that the call of a big whitefish sounds like this,

"Oh yeah, nice one! Big fish!, uh oh, oh noooooooo."

Nice photos. picturesque for sure out there. Love getting out in the morning to make the first ripples in the lake always better when the second one is the big fish of the day!
