Default Open Water Around Calgary

Hey Guys

Looking at swapping the prop out on my boat, so I am doing some testing with props. Anyone know of a lake that's ice free yet. Travers, McGregor, Twin Valley, Pine Coulee, etc.

Thanks in Advance!

Dustin

I don't know for sure, but on March 9 Twin Valley was pretty much done for ice, with the wind in that area, it should be open by now.

Or head to Windermere or Kootenay!

Default New to fishing

I am new to fishing the Calgary area. Where are the best areas for fishing from the shore ( I don't have a boat)? My 8 year old son is expressing interest so I'd like to get him out. Don't need big fish, small ones are perfect for what we're looking for.

Thanks so much in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default First Boat ride of the year

Guys,

I could not wait, I had to put the new boat in the water today. I spent approx 2.5 hours out on Lake Newell today. From the Boat launch North to the houses and the whole West side is open. the midddle has some slush but it was great to get out there and enjoy the nice weather finally.
