Default Pontoon boat fishfinder

I'm looking for an inexpensive finder for my pontoon boat, nothing fancy. Anyone have any experience with the Lowrance Hook3x?

They are good, I now have the Hook 4 Chirp, on my kayak and it is great. But in all honesty, The Humminbird Piranamax at $130 would work just as well with a few less options. I have been fishing PCR, like everybody else, and the only features I use are depth, structure and the fish alarm.

I own both the Lowrance 3x and the Hook 4. I would not go with the 3x, it is ok if you get it cheap on sale. Things i hate you can zoom but not scroll to look at different parts of water column ex. fishing in bc you can zoom to bottom but not to 70-40ft where my gear is. I find i have to change the sensitivity and range constantly where on the hook 4 I set it and it does it thing. It does read bottom good, it came with ice and summer pack and got it for dirt cheap so i like that. ID be tempted to try the garmin unit next great reviews and gps.
