Default Phyllis Lake! Yahoo!!!!!!!

Was out this Sat and Sun. Lots of people out and lots of fish!
The quickest fish I caught was 3 seconds after I put my line down it was a perch! It seemed like I was the only one catching fish. My sister and dad only caught 5 together and I caught 16 fish and kept 11 ! The people beside us were getting jealous of me. They had been out longer then us and they only caught 2! They were biting about 5-7 inches off bottom with worms and 1`16 once jigs. The perch are small but the trout are good pan sized. Here are some pictures!

Good to hear you had a good time. I am not trying to kill your buzz or anything but is the Trout limit per person not 5? There is 7 there, probably just a mistake.

Same thing went through my mind. So Dad and sister both landed 1 trout each and you kept 10 right? Tthat 11 was a typo right?

Ya just a typo. Sorry. I caught five and kept them, and Dad and sis caught 1 each.

Nice.

as for cooking...if you boneless fillet the perch they taste awesome rolled in lemon and pepper shake and bake and then cooked in virgin olive oil in a saute pan. Delicious.

as for the trout...you may want to try cleaning then marinating in Kraft golden Italian salad dressing for a few hours before cooking. I find it compliments the taste very nicely. Best way to cook pothole lake rainbows. IMHO.

It is so awesome when families can enjoy a day outside.
