Default help for spray lakes

First time up there wandering if there is special licence, and what kinds of lures work and where abouts to fish. Driving up from canmore.thanks

No need for a special license. You can use glow in the dark jigheads with a smelt for best results. Buzz bombs work too.

best spot is toward canyon dam. stop at buller creek and hike down toward lake and cross, it's a few km. best jig is a pink swedish rattle 3/4 oz with half a smelt on it. best fishing before noon. good luck

Just so you're aware, the Buller Creek access road and parking area isn't plowed this year. You need to walk in from the main road.

so quading might have some issues

is there sny laws you can not bring them out there??

No quads/sleds, no minnows. Smelts are allowed. If you're going for lakers in the deeps, make sure you have BRAIDED line...made that mistake recently

no sleds(snowmobiles)? Maybe let the dog team guy know about that. I was surprised to see him out there on the lake with one. watch the wind it can get bad.

I think the guys that put out the shacks get a permit to take sleds out

Yeah I am sure they have some sort of permit. Usually see the guys on sleds going out to pick up dog crap from the sled teams (seriously!). I have never asked them but they were doing it when F&W were at Driftwood so I am sure that they have some sort of permit.

I saw that at Driftwood yesterday too. There was a dogsled team, an F&W truck and a snowmobile in the parking lot.
