Default Blue bird or cloudy on the prairies.. what’s better ice fishing weather?

What seems to be a better fishing conditions for a day on the ice? Cloudy high pressure weather conditions or low pressure blue bird skys?
I’m wondering what your experience has been because I want to fish this week and it’s been super cold, so I’m wondering what other factors (like barometric pressure) I can take into account to get the best day of fishing.

better for you or the fish? I just fish when I have the opportunity, good bite or bad bite, only takes one good fish to make it all worthwhile! even a slow day is better than being at work!

Pressure does make a big difference for catching many fish.
I find a steady pressure for a few days before and after your trip is best.
101 seems to be the best .

When do you get cloudy high pressure days and low pressure bluebird days in winter?

Alberta is sitting under a high pressure dome right now which generally means clear and cold at this time of year,,,, and low pressure is what brings cloud and snow (typically).
