Default The Wilderness Wanderer packs out another Stones Ram!

Left Dodge City with a buddy Sept. 10th. I headed out with a Stones tag and caribou, and Kent, a non-resident caribou tag as he is from Alberta.
The trip came with more than its share of excitement due to having an earlier trip screwed up by twisting my ankle playing slow-pitch. Stoopid game...but nice cool refreshments afterwards...
Although hearing reports of some sheep hunters that had been out at the beginning of the season, all was not lost, due either to hot weather, little water, or smokey conditions. That helped subside the cravings to be on the sheep hills (as did reading Great Rams I and Great Rams II several times).
After a long day and checking out the Liard Hotsprings, we made the short drive back to the trail head and set up the tent for the night.
We got this fella on the way in to where we wanted to get to. The planets lined up again!

2 rams in 2 years......wow!!!!!

Congrats on an absolutely fantastic trophy. Those field photos are absolutely stunning. You live in a game rich part of your province and you definately take advantage of the hunting up there. Congrats once again on a beautiful ram.........Marco

Thanks all for the kudos...still smiling...
Phil, once we got the meat/ cape all packed up, we got the heck out of there as it was warming up something bad. With having to have been out by yesterday, we also reconsidered going back in the 10 miles to pack out a 'bou with the thermometer going up. While we were in this particular valley, we had not spotted any caribou as well.
We did check out some other country before heading south though for them. But, they were just not moving yet....
