Nice fish!....the problem with Coal is the quality of fish has gone down because most of those big ones are kept. (limit of 3 over 63cm) There are lots of small ones but that lake is headed for a collapse because all the breeders are removed.

The limit and/or size needs to be revised there or things are going to go down hill fast....

Not to mention the poachers in the brown mini-van

Seriously though, that is a NICE coal lake pike. Lefty pretty much summed up whats wrong with that lake. IMO if they had a zero limit for a couple years or 1 under 63 or something along those lines, the lake would be able to recover and become a really good pike fishery.

They need much stricter regs on any lake near the city if they expect it to last long. Not many fish holding bodies of water in AB and most of them are poorly managed.

Maybe I should move to Sask.

WOW awsome fish man. I think its crap when people over fish a nice lake. If the counts are low. It should be an automatic catch and release. If that They should hire people to enforce the policy.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm new to the forum here but wanted to share my pic of my 17lb jack caught at coal lake last summer. For me those big guys are not good eating anyways so back into the water he/she went!<a href="http://s876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/JenLab83/?action=view&amp;current=IMG_0416.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/JenLab83/IMG_0416.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
