Default Jiffy 30 - 10" questions

OK, not sure which one, haven't looked at it since last year. But what I wonder about is, if anyone has one and what they think of the exhaust. The one I have is so noisy that you need ear plugs. Not to mention the oil drips on the auger.
Last year I mentioned this and was told to use the opimax/optimix ? and although that worked to cure the oil problem, it's mixing instructions were way off base.Turns out so lean you'll seize the engine.

So, the main questions: has anyone put a muffler on one, or changed out the engine for a far superior Honda engine ?

I use the quaker state oil in my mod 30 no problems just reg gas and drain it every spring. I wondered about the opitimax also they claim you can go 100-1 instead of the 24-1 the tecumseh calls for.

Default oil

Best oil I've used so far for my strikemaster which has the same engine is either echo or tanaka oil. Just seems to run better. I've never been a fan of opti and don't use it in any of my two stroke stuff. Just my two cents.

I have gallons of the TCWIII oil for my boat. So that is what I'll be using.
Wife seized a small tiller engine this summer using the Opti2 oil.

Next thing to deal with will be a muffler........
