Default Great morning @ Rattlesnake

Decided to give the Snake another try after the dismal fishing a while ago and am sure glad I did.
The fishing was the best I've had for quite awhile, the pike were slamming right from the get go.
Got there just at 1st light and first drop down fish on!
Had several double headers and a fair bit of time could only use 1 line due to break off's and no time to re-rig.
Lost track of how many fish I lost but caught over 20 pike and 1 burbot, hooking average could'nt have been better than 50%.....
Smelts, jig and minnow,or just a minnow it did not seem to matter, they were hitting it all!
Lots in the 23-24" range
Lost one BIG one/broke the braided line on my tip-up
Final tally:
5 hours
20+ fish caught
3 keeper pike
1 27" burbot
A need to re-supply some bait
Just a great day !!!!

There's a good 10 inches+ of ice now.
Couple of guys were fishing just down from me and drove on the ice about 30 yards ....
I think I'll wait for a bit before I drive on!
Wish I could head out again this weekend but back to work I go.
