Default Favourite father-son stories

It always warms my heart to hear stories of a father and son getting out together and participating in constructive activities. Like this:

http://www.ajc.com/news/crime--law/f...bGQe7NFbQRK6I/

Quote:
A kidnapper was choked and shot five times during a deadly confrontation after he forced a father and son to drive to an ATM at gunpoint early Wednesday, DeKalb County police said.

Police don’t expect to file charges against Roy Farrell, 39, and his 16-year-old son, who were first confronted by the suspect at The Oaks at Stonecrest Apartment Homes on Evans Mill Road.

The suspect initially approached the son outside his home and asked for marijuana, according to a police report

They drove from the apartment to a SunTrust Bank on I-20 at Panola Road and backed into a parking space, Lt. Shane Stanfield said.

But when they got there, the suspect made one mistake: he sat his gun down by his side.

Farrell reached for the gun and told his son to choke the suspect, police said.

As the son choked him, police say Farrell shot the suspect five times. One of the shell casings was found above his head.
Brings a tear of joy to my heart.

I don't know why, but the part about him being choked makes the story about 10x better than if he had just been shot. Shooting him 5 times makes it about 5x better than if he had only been shot once.

I like to think they fist-bumped after. (in a cool casual "matter of fact" way...not showy or anything. )

Thirty years from now, the family will be sitting at the table having Christmas dinner and reminiscing about the old days.

I like their self defense laws better than ours. In Canada they would both be languishing in jail.
