Exclamation ISIS threatening Canada and JULY 1 seems to be the day

'While heavy rain is expected to dampen Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations Saturday on Parliament Hill, high-level security experts in both police and intelligence agencies are hoping the only explosions heard will be emanating from the thunder clouds overhead.

A national security memo, obtained by CTV News, has the ISIS terror group again “explicitly” naming Canada as a target, with its text warning Muslims to avoid markets and large gatherings as it threatens to use “explosives, vehicles and beheadings to kill crusaders'

much more to be googled if you care

Well, here's hoping the ISIS Spirit River division decides to join the party rather than blow it up!

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Hats off to the men and women across the country who will be responding if any terrorists try anything. Thanks for the heads up Ken. http://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/politic...-day-1.3480663

My July 1 festivities are taking place at a location where ISIS will have little success.

Hopefully we never get any of the sort of events that have happened in other parts of the world. Sadly, all it takes is a motivated group or individual though.

I hear Sons of Odin are having a membership drive this weekend. Maybe the two groups should organize a joint event.

Well, I'll let you know first hand if anything happens at the Hill, my wife and I, accompanied by my CF son and daughter-in-law will be there in the midst of the expected crowds.

If I see JT up close I'll be sure to give him a piece of my mind, Lord knows he can use it

Now there's a good idea ....... a joint ISIS / sons of Odin family picnic.

I will bring the potato salad, you bring the rat poison. Kill two birds with one stone. Canada would be better off without either of those groups here.

disclaimer; the above comments are a joke and in no way constitute a threat of violence against these groups or anyone associated with these groups - although the joke may be in poor taste, it's still far less offensive compared to what these groups would advocate.

Traffic congestion in Canmore should thwart their plans, plus they'd never find a place to park.

Beauty of terrorism is you just have to make a little noise and people run scared. that's why it works. Best antidote is to ignore it and carry on. Deprive the animals of the disruption they seek.

I don't see it as running scared, more on the lines of, here is some new info, carry on and be aware.

When I tell my kids to be aware of your surroundings when out and about, am I not being paranoid. I just want them to pay attention, that covers my daughter being safe from punks when she is out at a party or with friends, drunks on Whyte when my son and his friends go play pool or to the extreme of some Isis fanatic that may or may not have a plan for this part of the world.

I don't think anything will happen. I went to World Youth Days in Poland to meet the Pope, and they were threatening to do something. I mean Polish people are racist and any terrorist looking people they saw, were immediately watched. I laughed every time I saw Muslim tourists, as it was the worst time to come visit

My daughter is off to Montreal today for a school trip. I refuse to let fear govern what we do or where we go. Do I have concerns now (thanks Ken...)? Yes. Will it change how I live? Nope nope nope.

Well if it's gonna happen, it'll happen. Those of a certain faith can't be mad when they have to deal with the consequences of those actions though. Religion of peace my ass.

Paranoia and ignorance are two distinct things - one may, or may not have anything to do with the other. Just because someone put it in one of those silly internet "make your own quotes" templates lends little credence to it. Reading it annoys me.

We don't need to be paranoid.

But, unfortunately, we should be aware, diligent and prepared to deal with it should it happen.

Threads like these legitimize terror groups. They have people talking about them, giving them credence.

I and my family will be living our lives without fear of terror. We will be enjoying our Canada Day and living our lives as we have planned.

Don't legitimize the terrorist!

How do you prepare to not be blown up other than not going anywhere? Not going to events and gatherings because of fear is paranoid in my books.

Being a little paranoid is a survival thing. Been working for thousands of years. Watch your back. Be alert, the world needs more Lerts.
