Default Buying flies

Hey guys,

Where do you go to buy your flies? I live north east and used to go to the cabelas but his year every time I go they have no selection and everything's sold out.

Any good spots in Edmonton or on the way to red deer?

I'd probably order online from Icky Flyworks, a site sponsor. I think there might be a temporary glitch with his website though, which I understand should be resolved soon.

Wholesale sports on St. Albert Trail has a pretty good selection right now. Cabelas never seems to have anything.

I don't buy them. I hang up these sticky strips of paper and the next day I can pick off as many as I wish.

Headwaters - I looked on the website real quick and see some beautiful flies there.

Do you know what they charge for one of their streamers, such as the "Big Blue" salmon fly? Or an average price for one of the pieces?

Thanks

Can't touch Icky Flyworks for quality and price in my books.
And he's a sponsor of the forum too.

So - I contacted Tiger Fly Outfitters.

I asked for a quote on some of the larger streamers he's tying - average price is $10 a fly. Quoted between $7 and $12.50 a piece.

Beautiful flies, premium price.

Their website is currently down

"Gone Fishin',

IckyFlyWorks is temporarily down due to the pending Canada Post strike that is anticipated to start at the beginning of July. We are shutting down the site to ensure that orders don't get lost.

The site will be back up as soon we see back-to-normal Canada Post service.

Thank you for choosing IckyFlyWorks. We apologize for any inconvenience.

IckyFlyWorks
admin@ickyflyworks.ca"

Just in case anyone was planning to buy from them soonish.

Reelflies.ca I love their flies and for the price I can't say no. Takes a little longer to get here as they come from Ontario but worth the wait if you can plan ahead.

I also buy flies from reelflies.ca.

If you can wait and buy your files on cyber monday or boxing day you can usually get 25% off from reelflies.
