Went there for our anniversary. Probably the best rib-eye I've ever tasted. All the food was 5 star, service was above and beyond for any Calgary restaurant. Dinner and drinks for two came to around $300. It's pricey but definitely "fine dining".

BTW....Bookers....is at the furthest end of the spectrum for "fine dining" Been twice, not much better than any local pub. Terrible service, waitress both times was unskilled and inattentive. Funny, because both places are owned by the same people.

yup, that's one I've been to. Valentines Day a few years ago. Places like that feel like a REAL Italian restaurant. Your server isn't some college student but a 50 year old guy in a tux who's been there 30 years. That sort of place. There are a few others up centre like that as well. Definitely NOT the old spaghetti factory (which I happen to like too, but not in the same class).

Never actually been there but one Christmas we were thinking of going there with all our friends. I was told that Ruths ship their steaks from the US and do not use the nice AB Steak we have here? Anybody heard the same? Just all I've heard...as I said I never been there so I can't compare.

Saltlik was awesome the first time we went...then 2nd and 3rd time it went downhill and haven't been back since. Maybe because we went on Christmas Eve and the head chefs had the days off?

If you're a member of eservus, they are selling gift cards in advance for a reduced price at various steakhouses. Like $40 for a $50 gift card. I remember there were several steak houses that offers this...so check it out. One of them I know for sure is Parkerhouse. I really liked it the first time there, but 2nd time (on New Years Eve) it wasn't that great. Maybe just like my experience with Saltlik...picked the wrong day to go.

Milestones across from Saltlik 'tries' to be upscale but not all their servers are properly trained. Food is OK. Definitely a place I would NOT recommend if you're looking for a nice night out.

Red Waters is actually very nice. Been there several times and very impressed every time. Haven't been there on a special holiday yet so not sure if they fail just like Saltlik and Parkerhouse would. But I'd recommend it based on my experiences thus far.

I've heard the "Sky 360" at the Calgary Tower is actually pretty good. Free ride up the tower if you dine there.

Believe it or not but Joey Tomatoes (yes a chain) is pretty good over by Eau Claire. Usually really packed as well.

Hope this helps!
