Looking at building another smaller tent for packing purposes but interestex in somthing that breathes a little better. Ive tried googling but my computor savy at that great. Thanks for the help.

Really happy with my Capital Canvas tent - 14x16 with a 5 foot porch and aluminum frame.

For 2 guys a 12x14 works, 3-4 get a 14x16. An aluminum frame is really nice, fast setup too.

Get an airtight stove and an EcoFan.

Check out tipi tents too - the stove in the middle is a nice concept for even heat throughout the tent.

Default Atuk Tents

I bought 10 tents for our camps up North and the best ones we have ever had came from atuk tents in Quebec. www.atuktents.com . Guy is great to deal with and builts nice stuff. We went with a few 14x16 with 5 foot walls but the last ones I bought from him are 16x20 and its great to have the extra room. I would suggest putting at least 2 windows in, there really nice to have.

I bought 2 relite tents from Montana canvas for packing on the horse, there super lite weight but do not breath at all. I am glad I got windows in them

X2 on the ECOFAN, bought one last fall, best investment/addition to wall tent with wood heat.

Yes. Sail silk is lite weight and eazy to work with but it is also very flammable. Unfortunatley learned this the hard way. I know they can b treated but apparently it doesnt work that great.

I have one I bought like 8 years ago . Great tent, the canvas is a lot heavier than the other made in canada tents I have seen.
I leave mine setup for 2 months at a time on the side of a river ( jet boat access) I take my time with setup as securing it properly and the tent has held up amazingly well !
the only thing i even had to do was replace the stove ring as it burnt out after 2 seasons. the original stove ring was a fiberglass weave. the replacement i got is a silicone rubber and shows no sign of wear after many seasons.

I paid a lot more than 390.00 ! so if your looking for a tent I doubt you will ever see a better deal

I would suggest a 14x16 Fort MacPherson. They are very well made for extreme weather conditions. I would have the stove pipe installed in the front of the tent.

Just an update on princess auto wall tents, there are none left at the south side location. I picked up the last one this morning. Not sure about the north location.

Default Agree with redcoat

Have stove opening near the front. Cool air comes in, gets heated and travels to the rest of the tent. I have a 16x20x3.5. Love it. Bel

Those princess auto tents sound like a screaming deal! I have a capital canvas 10x12x5ft wall. Its been great the last 4 years. We put 3 guys in it without feeling crowded. No table or chairs or anything like that though!
