Wild rose navhda-new member
Hello all
I am new to the forum and the wild rose Navhda.
I am looking for information off any forum members that are with the wild rose,I have emailed a couple of people of the website with no reply,l have a gsp he is 12 weeks old and would like to bring him up to start training but don't know if there is a certain age the dog has to be,any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not part of the executive and opinions may vary. But these first winter training days may be of limited use to your pup, other than you seeing dogs at different levels of experience and the drills they do and just meeting the crowd. But when the weather warms up and we start field work , May ish your pup will be ready for the intro to field work that is done with the young dogs.
Though if your really new to v-dogs I would say go to at least one of the winter OB sessions
So we must see some puppy pics

I am looking forward to attending the training sessions next spring. As soon as I pick up my pup, I will start with obedience training, so he is soon ready to start his training as a hunting dog.

I was merely expressing the fact that I am also a new member of Wildrose NAVHDA, and am looking forward to attending the training sessions. Basic training has already begun,I will take a drive up to wild rose next training day to have a look at them training there dogs and hopefully meet some of the handlers try to pick up a few training tips.

Bring your dog
I'll see you tomorrow at Benalto. I'll bring a couple of pigeons if I remember, you might be surprised how he reacts to a live bird.
As far as when to start training, it depends on you and the dog, 12 weeks should be fine.

A kennel
It is a riding area, and IMO a kennel is the best way to "put your dog up" as opposed to tying him to a rail. So bring a kennel. His own water, a bowl, some dog treats, a leash, and maybe a long leash if you have one.
You will see lots of gear, some home made, that you have never thought of. Doggy people can be very creative.
When you get there give him a little walk, keep him away from any other dogs that may be outside, then bring his kennel, bowl and water into the building.
You may meet his litter mates.

Result
Made the trip to benalto yesterday
I meet a few members and there dogs all at various parts of there training,they were all very helpful and I picked up some good advice moving forward with training my dog,can't wait for the next time it is on we will be making the trip again.
