Quarry Lake
Can someone tell me if you can launch a kayak at this lake or is it a long walk from the road? Have never been there and will be in the area next week, would be nice to hook into a grayling.
Thanks for any help.

If this is the one right by the Nordic Center then you can easily toss a kayak in it. It is not very big though.

No need for it on that pond. You can cast with no worries all the way around it. Two strokes with your paddles and you would be across the dang thing

In answer to the second part-- it is a short walk from the parking area, maybe about 600m. While it isn't that far to haul a 'yak, it is quite small across as mentioned. I have read it is over 100m deep in some parts but I can't confirm that. Underground spring fed and cold. Nice grayling.

Well there ya go. Not the answer I was going to give. I have never heard or seen anyone fishing there. I thought it was just part of the canal from Spray.

There is the water storage that is immediately next to the road as you come around the bend and head up the hill, but Quarry Lake is not that particular body of water.
Quarry lake is to the left of the parking lot for the dog park nearby, and is further east (down the road from the bend).

lots of fish in there, rockies right at the tunnel mouth, and some lakers as well, first and only time Ive caught lake trout on a fly rod, down near those huge boulders just after ice out.

Caught a couple small ones there on Tuesday on stone fly nymph...Saw a few risers on the far bank and was switching to dry when a quick storm blew up. Got real nasty with little warning. At least you're never too far from one bank or another. Didnt know they had lakers in there but read somewhere there is Bull trout in there.

This might help you guys out. Its a map i created when i was fishing that area because i had the same problem as you with figuring out what ponds are where.

I left this one open for others to edit if they want to comment on any of the ponds in the area
