Small ponds are probably iced over but not by much. -20 in the surrounding area this morning. Shouldn't be too long for walk ons.

Default Ice conditions

As of yesterday Pigeon had about 2” at Prov Park boat launch just off shore. Lake appears to be froze over. Wizard had about 3” at boat launch and someone had already walked out a ways pulling a sled and drilled a couple holes

Well, I took a break from cleaning my beautiful rainbows to make this post, but the ice is definitely not good. Stay off it for a while!

Haven’t been out that way yet. When I drove home past Wabamun yesterday it was definitely still wide open. Saw some kids posting pics fishing from shore still.

I’ll probably head out tomorrow for another drive around to check things out. Tuesday will be a trip north to try for some whites and big pike. Maybe A walleye or two.

My lake at home has about 3” now, and was snow covered and lookin good as of 7am this morning... by 3pm this wind and warm and rain has it down to flloodwater and no snow. Can’t believe the weather this year so far...

If you’re heading out, be safe, be smart, and good luck!

Don’t quote me, but I overheard the other day people have been on East Pit. I have been on other lakes in the area with about 4” of ice on them.

Sylvan - Nov 16th .... that's the main pier, not much ice to venture out on!

Someone named Matt Strickland gets the photo credit.

About 2.0" of good ice and 2" of white ice on Chicacoo. Over half a dozen open areas from methane coming up.

With over half a dozen open areas, you probably shouldn't

Driving past half moon north of bon accord today. The campground is locked up but i went to the west end where the lake comes near the road and walked out. Chopped a hole and measured 6 inches of ice with a tape measure. Saw 1 guy and his dog out fishing towards the east end.

Looks like Sylvan is mainly ice covered on the southeast portion of the lake by the main townsite & Lighthouse area, not sure what the northwest looks like around Sunbreaker, will have to check it out.

Someone else's pic, not mine .... that's ice not open water.

D.

Work had me to Whitecourt the other day, Lac St Anne looked to be ice covered from Ross Haven. Some atv tracks along the shore.
