I'm sure this early dump of snow will not help the strength and formation of the ice.

Worst thing to happen is to have a big dump very early as the ice just is forming.

X2

HOPING FOR A BUNCH OF WIND TO BLOW MOST OF IT OFF AND A BIT OF HEAT TO MELT WHAT REMAINS. Then bring on the cold to make some good solid ice before anymore snow.

Disagree, better now then in mid-December to mid-January. In a week from now the flood water & snow will have combined to become white ice. When heavy snows happens in mid-December to mid-January lakes become basically non-travelable for much longer periods.
