Default looking for a TC Encore

I am looking to buy a new rifle for deer. I am thinking of a TC encore pro hunter. I am still waiting for my PAL to come in (should be less then a month). I cant find any Encore's anywhere!!! Looking for a 270 or 30-06. Anyone know of any around the province?? I have heard nothin but good things about them, but they seem like an enigma, only existing in some far off land!!

BackCountry Sports in Red Deer brings them in, they also carry extra barrels. They wait for shipments if sold out just like everyone else.

SIR is your best bet out of Winnipeg.

Default 4 months??

Looks like I wont find one before the start of this season, if I still need a to wait for a month for my PAL. Maybe I will go with something economical for this season (stevens 200) until I get my hands on an Encore.

Default Got one!!

I found one in Phoenix Gun Shop in Edmonton!! I put a deposit down for the frame, and just need to decide if what calibre I want. Its the camo stock with the black rubber high lights!! The dudes at the shop seem to be good guys. I am paying a bit more then if I got it from SIR, but I think the personel service is worth a few dollars.

Now to wait for my PAL so I can pick it up. The guy told me lately its been a 3-4 month wait!! That means I might not get it until September!!! Anyone have any personal experience as to how long I have to wait??

Now the age old debate .270 or .30-06??

Howdy. a friend of mine just got his took 2months. You can call and ask for status update also. How much were they selling the barrels in town for and did they have any of the 20" barrels?

Default TC barrels

they had a 300 WSM there in the 20" barrel. It was the one on the frame that i bought. it had the front and rear sights on it. I cant recal the price exactly. I paid $585 for the frame and it was gonna be about $960 for the frame and barrel. they said they had tonnes of barrels in stock, and it would be a day or two to get them in the store.

Default tc pro hunter

Howdy,

Actually called them today and the only one currently in stock in 20" was a .460 S&W. He said they sold the last .500 S&W the day before. He said they were getting more of the longer barrels in shortly. On TC website it only comes in .500S&W,.460S&W and the 45-70Govt and 209x50 when it comes to 20" size, way more choices in the 24,26,28 inch barrels. That would be really cool if they did come in a 300WSM in 20inches. However with that said I did buy the .460 S&W and as added bonus I can use the Colt 45 round and the .454 Casull rounds. Gonna go try it tomorrow Interchangeable barrels rock!
