Default Some Nice Jumbo Perch

Caught some nice Jumbo Perch this past weekend. A little patience, persistence, and tiny yellow jigs loaded with maggots paid off.

Nice fish....what was your approach to finding them on the lake?

I don't need to know the lake (I suggest not mentioning it here anyway).

But would like to know how you find them.

Thanks!!

I moved around quite a bit locating schools on my sonar. When I found them I simply anchored and dropped the jig down leaving it sit dead still right on the bottom. I found most of them in 14-15 FOW right along the weed line where the cabbage weeds taper off in the sand/gravel. I also found some in 10-11 FOW in the thick weeds. Perch move around a lot in the same areas, once you recognize there movement patterns you can really have a lot of fun catching them. You just need to put in the time.
