Default fishing or wife?

Bit of a dilemma. Wife's 40th this weekend, but also the first weekend for me to get out on the ice? Any thoughts?

I'd say the rest of your season will probably run smoother if you sacrifice this weekend to stay home for her birthday.

X2 I totally agree and not even married yet. Lavish her this weekend and the rest of the month and the new year will be much better for you.

I say go fishing, and then when you get home in the evening, ask her to clean em up for you so you have a snack when you get back from the pub after having a few brewski's.

Default wife / fishing

If it is 40th, you have probably been married long enough. Make it memorable by going fishing and you will be single soon and you will be able to fish all you want.

Good luck

Default Hmmmm,...

...that's kind of a 'Milestone' Birthday. I'd blow about 4 or 5 hun on a couple 'Certificates' for Her and a 'Girlfriend' to the SPA. She'll LOVE IT, and Not only will you be able to go Fishing 'THAT' day, but she'll remember how GREAT it was and how 'thoughtful' you were for making sure she could 'take' along her BFF !!

Worth EVERY penny !

Cheers,

/FC...

Driverlong listen..I have the perfect plan , but you've got to act fast. It involves some things i persoally wouldnt do, but after reading your thread, i knew this would be the only solution..
First you are going to need to gather the following items..a tape recorder, a basketball, a live eel, four tacks, some glue, cookies, a beautiful diamond pendant, an ice auger, string, a lamp, your best shoes, an old tire, two pilons, a unicycle, a midget, a hot air baloon, a vucuum hose, mr.t, and a barrel.
Heres what you do with all that ...
Record yourself snoring, put eel under covers of bed, use tacks and glue to hold it in place, the squirming eel and snoring track will simulate you in deep sleep.
Place the basketball right beside the door, tie string to ball and to lamp switch. As door is opened the lamp will flash on. This will que the midget, who will race out on the unicycle pulling the vacuum hose. Now this is the most important part...You now jump out from behind the dresser, holding the diamond pendant, the vacuum hose wraps around your legs and you get dragged out of the room, down the stairs to the front door, your wife naturally follows. Make sure to hit the door hard enough to pop it open as you cartwheel out of control down the stairs. Mr T will be waiting outside in the hot air baloon with the cookies and ice auger. Your wife should now be "suprised" and impressed at your considerable efforts. Now both of you hop into the baloon, hi five Mr.T, and your off for a romantic flight that will end at the lake of your choice.
But remember this Driverlong... You must get Mr.T back home before midnite or he will do that thing the gremlins did back in the 80's.
Good luck!!

It seems pretty obvious to me...

Splurge a bit and buy her a bunch of fishing gear - when she begs you to go fishing , you reluctantly agree.

Hey fella's this is truly an age old question is is not? Well obviously if she's into fishing take her. If not draw up the divorce papers and hit the ice I mean really she's 40 time to upgrade maybe to newer model Kidding of course you have like 150+ days to get out on the ice how often will your wife turn 40

And in all fairness to me, I am sure it is her 40th, but...she keeps saying 28?
28 doesn't seem like such a mile stone.

AND of course everything is said tounge in cheek....(in case she reads this)

Default Fishing or wife

First of all, the day before her birthday take her to WSS, buy her a new ice fishing tent , and on her birthday take her fishing, then once you get back home take her to her choice of Mac Donald, LOL

No no body, a happy wife is much better, stay home and go fishing the following week.

Not sure where you were planning to fish but the forecast for Southern Alberta sounds crappy so do what I would do. Make it seem like you're REALLY going out of your way to stay home & sacrifice a perfectly good fishing weekend (even though the weather is crap & you might not have gone anyway) to spend time with the love of your life thereby securing many happy future trips.

BTW, love of your life, in this instance anyway, IS NOT a 15lb walleye or 30lb pike
