Default Who's going to Canada's Wild Outdoor Expo

Just curious as to how many of you are going to the show in July ? It's put on by Wild TV and there seem's to be a lot of anti wild on this site.

I would say the same don't care. Im just glad to have that kind of Expo to go to lot of good things to look at or buy for a outdoorsman. Hell of a lot better to go to then just a store all the time. For a one time a year thing its great!! wish it was put on twice a year lol.

Default Why not

Why wouldn't you check it out? We always complain there isn't enough of this stuff for outdoors folks. Show your support!
Wild tv offers way more than I ever had before they existed.

I'm going. Just cause some of their shows and TV personalities are not the best doesn't mean there won't be good stuff there!

So a duck calling competition, some archery lanes, dock dogs and cowboy shooting? Doesn't sound like a 3 hour drive to me.

I see the ABA is running the archery lanes there. Do you think they would mind if I brought my spear?

man, we are suckers, aren't we? We pay to get into a place where we can spend our money. Cabelas and Bass Pro should charge admission.

And yet, I still go to the fly fishing expo and outdoorsmen show every year.... sad. LOL

And most would find it pretty sad when a hunter is complaining about going to a event strictly dedicated to hunters and hunting and having to pay a few bucks to get in.

Can someone tell me exactly what is there? I see a duck calling competition, some dogs and some archery lanes. I can see no other info on the flyer.

I thought the show was ok. There were a few interesting booths, but I kind of thought there was going to be more, to be honest. My dad said that a few years ago there was a lot more to see. But hey, got to hang out with my family for the day, so it was still pretty good.

I went and was really disappointed. Not much to buy and lots of distributors. If I wanted to see adverts I would turn on the Wild TV channel.

I liked watching the water dogs but I was disappointed over all. I was under the impression that this show was much better than the Sportsman show at Northlands & would have way more outdoor stuff but it didn't.

Default thought there would be more

went on Saturday. It took longer to go from the truck parking to the ticket line up than to tour the booths.

Sportsman show is loaded with run of the mill everyday booths and items for sale that (generally) appeal to the majority of outdoor enthusiasts.. guys from seadoo-er's & kneeboarders to saturday afternoon fishermen and hunters in need of another hoodie. In my opinion, that show is the money-grab... Boat/Sportsmn show lacks the presence of companies and outlets that provide services to hunters & shooters (specifically) To me, this hunt-show expo HAD vendors present you are able to talk to about a product and get better uderstanding of its value first-hand rather than by word of mouth, on a forum, or as a written description on an online-sales site... *products of which are of significant value and you'd think would heed (some degree) of hands-on to make the call to dish out hard-earned dollars for...

Sport Ear, regarding hearing protection us shooters all should value.. was there
ScoutBasecamp, regarding distributers of Kestrel & such.. (which local doesn't carry or bother briging-in for "general sales" to the flocks) !
Extreme Outer limits promoting a line of rifles coming available to Canada
Huskemaw guys outta the states explaining & offering "from the horses mouth" explanations and opinion toward their products, new & old
Corlanes
Downrange Precision
Benchmark Barrels
...there were more gunsmiths and builders in that hall then I've seen at the boat-show in all years combined (that I've ever been)

There were valuable people and businesses of interest on-site to discuss the questions and concerns we all Bit#% about being so hard to come by and often come to ask (this forum) for example instead..

You guys are looking at the idea behind that show from the wrong angle. $15 admission to have conversations face to face regarding specialized products and gear (with exceptional competitors ALL in the same building) and talk to them (or visually see and handle their rifles/gear etc) is ALOT cheaper than driving all over alberta or BC (or to the states) to talk to or see these products first hand.

I think the show was very good. Saved (me) time, fuel and frustration involved with getting the right guys on the phone or in-front of you to talk to. Well worth the drive & $15 to get in.. no complaints
