If you google River Chub, you will see that fish is not a chub. Chub don't have shiny slim bodies and the mouth is very different ! Also not a squawfish !

No kidding, I let it go because I wasn't sure if I could use it as bait ! I'm going back to get me a few for winter. The bites were steady so I down sized to see what was cleaning me off, that's when I caught one !

In the peace river, we would catch a couple on small pickerel rigs baited with bacon. Then cut them into minnow sized peices and use for bait. They would also be good bait whole for big pike.

It is either a lake chubb, or a fathead chubb. Pretty good size, too.

The mouth makes me think Flathead. Yeah it was a pretty big hook
