Default Brazeau Dam

Hi folks,

I drove past the Brazeau dam in the middle of the night a few days ago. I have never really been out that way before and I was wondering what it was all about.

I asked my buddies and around work but no one could tell me if the fishing or camping is any good.

I was thinking of maybe packing up the family and heading there for a few days next week if I could find some evidence that it would be a good time.

Are the campsites any good? Family friendly?

How is the fishing? Is it better in the res. or canal? I read there's pike there, what other kinds of fish are in there?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!!

We quad around there frequently lots of crown land so could camp in a lot of places. A lot of stuff gets stolen around that area so you are aware, have never fished the reservoir but fished the river once when we were quadding caught a few small pike.

Nice spot to camp at the dam. Times 2 on theft in that area. I've lost quite a few things in that area and some were expensive. Cabled a 5 gal gas can in the box and they just dumped it into something else. Spare tire, anything that can be carried needs to be locked up. Outfitters tent; gone. Sad but it's the way it is.

I enjoy the dam. There are a lot of places to fish. There is pike.
I have camped there in the campsites and that was great.
